Biography

Jason began his screen career playing Hareton Earnshaw in Peter Kosminsky's WUTHERING HEIGHTS opposite Juliette Binoche and Ralph Fiennes. Major television performances followed including Dr Rob Khalefa in the BAFTA award winning series 13 of CASUALTY; South-African Ashley Davies in INSPECTOR MORSE opposite John Thaw and Kevin Whately; further TV appearances include EASTENDERS, A TOUCH OF FROST, BERLIN BREAKS, BUGS, SECOND THOUGHTS, THE BILL, FAMILY AFFAIRS, HIGHLANDER and most recently, LUTHER with Idris Elba and BIRDS OF A FEATHER opposite Pauline Quirke, Lesley Joseph and Linda Robson. Further film credits include Edmund in Brian Blessed's KING LEAR, Paul in WHERE THERE'S SMOKE, and The Man in Jason Hreno's WONDERING EYES. A classically trained actor at LAMDA, London, many major stage roles include the title roles in HAMLET, (the rehearsal process and performances being featured in Tony Lee's BBC2 documentary PLAYING THE DANE) and MACBETH; Geoffrey in THE LION IN WINTER opposite Brian Blessed, Demetrius in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, Heathcliff in WUTHERING HEIGHTS, and his first professional role as Peachum in THE BEGGAR'S OPERA with Nick Moran; and very recently with Nick Moran again (20 years later!) in Bill Kenwright's West End hit 12 ANGRY MEN, playing a range of parts with, among the incredible cast, Martin Shaw, Jeff Fahey and Robert Vaughn - finishing the run in the leading role Juror 8. Back on screen, he plays Tony in Damien Samuel's comedy short film THE FIVE WIVES AND LIVES OF MELVYN PFFERBERG with Callum Blue, Brooke D'Orsay and Natalia Warner. Another release 2016 is the short film MOTHERLAND in which he plays co-leading role Julian, opposite the captivatingly talented Sope Dirisu. Jason wrote the original short story MOTHERLAND, which has been developed into a screenplay and directed by Jason Hreno; produced by Dominic Barlow. And recently Jason has completed filming on comedy pilot TV show SWITCHIN' opposite rising young star Joshua Okusanya , directed by Marc Senior. He has most recently completed a wonderful run appearing as John Cristow in Agatha Christie's THE HOLLOW, directed by Brian Blessed OBE, at The Mill at Sonning July - September  2016. Filming is also complete on feature film LUCID (2017) in which Jason stars opposite Sadie Frost and Laurie Calvert with Billy Zane. In 2017: Jason has also joined Terry Stone in his London classic gangster feature film ONCE UPON A TIME IN LONDON, shot the new LAYS crisps commercial in South Africa, played a desparate endurance cyclist in DOCTORS for the BBC and  Otto Gerlach in Daniel Alfredson's INTRIGO - DEATH OF AN AUTHOR with Sir Ben Kingsley. More for 2017 - 2 episodes in EMMERDALE with director Alan Wareing, who also gave Jason his first ever TV role as series regular Dr Rob in BBC's Casualty all those years ago! More TV appearances in 2018/2019/2020 include  EASTENDERS and a recurring role in CORONATION STREET and lead in the multi-award winning short THE END OF COMEDY.

Awards: 2021 Best Actor ‘Arthur’ in THE END OF COMEDY at the TMFF Film Festival nominee. 2020 Show Low Film Festival Best Ensemble DAMAGE won. 2017 Directors Guild of Canada Best Short Film MOTHERLAND (writer) nominee.
